Sabine Madriguera hails from Berlin, Germany. She holds a master’s degree from the Hochschule fuer Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin.
Sabine is the Director of Guitar Studies at Collin College in Plano, Texas. Her student ensembles were awarded first prizes in the competition at the University of Texas Brownsville Guitar Ensemble Festival & Competition. Sabine is also a member of the Advisory Board to the Allegro Guitar Society. Since the fall of 2005 Sabine is the first director of the Guitar Orchestra for Cross Timbers Youth Orchestra.
In 1996, Duo Madriguera was formed together with Sabine's husband Enric. Since then the duo has enjoyed an active regional and international performance schedule. They have been featured at international festivals in Austria, the Czech Republic, Mexico, Peru, and Spain. Duo Madriguera has performed in prestigious halls such as the Sala Manuel Ponce in Mexico City and the Teatro Villa de Madrid, for the Sociedad Espanola, the guitar society of Madrid.
In 2003, the duo released their debut self titled CD on Encore record label. In 2009, the duo embarks on a four-city tour of Peru co-sponsored by Partners of the Americas and the U.S. Embassy. The City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs has awarded Sabine as well as Duo Madriguera several grants to underwrite performances and arts projects in Dallas.
